Privacy policy

Owlglance is an Android app published by Vũ Đức Dân (Dan Vu) · DanAI. This policy explains what the app keeps, where, and how you stay in control.
The short version
Owlglance works without an account and keeps what you enter on your phone. We do not run servers that receive your data, we show no ads, and the app contains no analytics or advertising tools.
What the app stores on your phone
- Profiles: the name or nickname you give each child, an age band (4–6, 7–12 or 13–15), and whether a profile is an adult or a child. Your birth year is used once to set up the app and is not saved.
- Consents: which permissions a parent or guardian gave, for which purpose, which text version, and when they were given or withdrawn.
- Breaks and missions: when breaks and kids’ missions started and ended, what a child tells Bo they saw, stars earned, and daily time spent in the kids’ area (with the guardian’s consent for the child profile).
- Optional health information, only after consent: eye-comfort journal entries; check-up dates; glasses prescriptions you copy from an exam slip and, if you add them, photos of the slip; patching time logged against your eye doctor’s instructions.
- Technical crash reports: error type, code location, app and Android version, phone model. No messages and no personal content.
Protection on the phone
The database is encrypted with a key protected by the Android Keystore. Slip photos are kept in the app’s private storage. Backups and device-to-device transfer are turned off, so this information stays on this phone.
What leaves your phone
- Nothing, automatically.
- When you choose to: a JSON export of your data, a PDF report for your eye doctor, a crash report. Each is sent only when you tap Share and pick a destination yourself. The JSON export is not encrypted and contains health information; keep it safe.
- Google Play: if you buy Owlglance Family, the purchase is handled by Google Play under Google’s privacy policy. The app only asks Google Play whether the subscription is active. We do not receive your payment details.
Children
- Children use Owlglance only after a parent or guardian creates their profile and consents. From age 7, children are also asked for their own agreement.
- Purchases, settings and sharing cannot be reached from the children’s area without a parental check.
- The children’s area contains no ads, no third-party analytics and no links out of the app.
Your choices and rights
- Withdraw a consent at any time in the app. For the eye record and the care plan (check-ups, patching), the related records are deleted at once. For the eye-comfort journal, its entries are deleted at once too (the app asks first).
- Export all your data, or delete it all, from Settings → Your data stays yours.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.
- Because we hold no copy of your data, we cannot recover it or delete it for you: everything is under your control on your device. Please send any privacy question or complaint to vudanmax@gmail.com. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
This website
owlglance.dan.ai.vn sets no cookies. It uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views in aggregate: which pages are opened, the referring page, country, device type and browser. It uses no cookies, stores no IP addresses, cannot recognise you on another day and does not follow you to other websites. The Owlglance app does not use it. The hosting provider may keep ordinary technical logs (such as IP addresses) for a short time to run and protect the site.
Not medical advice
Owlglance helps build habits. It does not measure vision, diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. See an eye care professional about any concern.
Changes
We will update this page and its date when the app’s handling of information changes. A change that needs new consent will be asked for in the app.
